Dancer Luiza Karnas and Artistic Director, Alexis Robbins, will perform a 3 minute a-capella tap duet as a part of the annual 30-30-30 End of Year Benefit at Dixon Place! Curated by Sangeeta Yesley, 30 dance companies will perform 3 minute long works to celebrate the end of 2018. Early bird tickets are $25 until December 15th, after that they are $30. Come ring in the new year with us!

 

Luiza Karnas, Sarah Robbins, and Alexis will be performing the first draft of our new work Doing vs. appearing in Stam-pede on Sunday, January 6th at 3 PM at Symphony Space! Stam-pede is a public performance as a part of Symphony Space’s “Just Kidding” Family Series and an APAP (Association of Performing Arts Presenters) Showcase. Join us for our first show in 2019 and for an afternoon of percussive dance!

The company performed at the Highline Ballroom in RAW Artists Presents: Ovation, an evening filled with visual art, live music, dance, and fashion design. Alice and Alexis performed our crowd favorite “No More No More” and the company performed two excerpts of works in progress. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported!

 

Artistic Director, Alexis, performed her newest solo “Hear Me Out” as part of the lobby installation in mouthfull. curated by OF BONES || HOLLYE BYNUM at Center for Performance Research. She surprised the audience members in the lobby by dancing unannounced, and then led them into the theater space for the rest of the show. Some proceeds from this year’s mouthfull. were donated to RAINN!

 

Alice, Allison, Aryanna, and Karli performed three vignette excerpts of our newest work in progress at the Actors Fund Arts Center in An Evening of Contemporary Dance curated by an Emotions Physical Theatre. Thank you to our friends and family for joining us for a beautiful evening of work by various companies!

 

The company, and guest artist Shaina Schwartz, performed an adapted excerpt of “Defining Characteristics” at Dixon Place as a part of inQUAD curated by Inclined Dance Project. The evening included two other female led companies, LLmoves and Neville Dance Theatre. This was the first time this piece was performed on a stage! Thank you to everyone that came out and supported.

 

Our film “No More No More” was screened at The Local NYC in DANCE SHORTS curated by The Physical Plant alongside several other incredible Queens based dance films. Artistic Director, Alexis Robbins, had the opportunity to speak about her role as director and choreographer with the audience as well as meet the other directors. An inspiring evening for sure!

 

Dancers Alice Halter and Allison Ward performed in an intimate, sold-out evening alongside Nico Brown and Rovaco Dance Company at the Hi Artist official launch event!

Thank you to everyone who came - we loved meeting the audience members and discussing our work.

 

The company performed "Defining Characteristics" for two packed audiences at the Transit Museum's PLATFORM event. Audience members were able to follow the dancers as they danced on the platform and in the cars!

Alice and Alexis performed No More No More at a private Hi Artist event in Manhattan on Saturday, June 16th.

It was an intimate gathering at a beautiful studio in West Village. You can catch us at their official launch on July 28th. 

 

We produced our first ever evening-length performance at SMUSH Gallery in Jersey City on May 4 & 5. Thank you to the generous donors and sold out audiences that made this weekend a huge success!

Alexis brought her unique choreographic style to students at SMUSH Gallery during our "Making Dances" workshop. Students played with how to integrate rhythmic and tap movements into contemporary styles. Thanks to everyone who came out!
