We use funds for artist compensation, rehearsal space, production fees, equipment (microphones, floors, costumes, etc.), tour planning, and more. Funding for arts and culture is currently being dismantled and attacked in the United States more than ever before. While funding sources have always been extremely scarce for experimental performing artists, and particularly for tap dance, we now must rely on individual donors to help bring our work to life. Thanks to the generosity of over 80 individual donors (so far) since our fundraising efforts began in 2024 for The Mercy Velvet Project, we have raised just over $17,000. We have also been awarded $4,000 in small grants from the New England Foundation for the Arts and the Connecticut Office of the Arts.
